Front Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant

Kay Marie was born and raised in Palo Alto, and has been in the veterinary field on the peninsula for several years. She joined Sequoia Vet in early 2017. She is very well-versed, working in many areas of the hospital; from front office duties, to assisting the veterinarians, and more. Because of her versitility, hard work, positive "can do" attitude and so much more, she stepped in to the Front Office Manager role. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and is a certified farrier. In her free time, Kay Marie enjoys horseback riding, hiking, knitting, reading and spending time with her husband and her sweet dog Fiona.

Jennifer started at Sequoia in mid-2012. She was born and raised in the greater Chicago area, but headed straight to California after graduating high school making her a bay area resident since 1995. Jennifer found her calling working with animals in 1999, and hasn't steered away from the field since. When she is not at Sequoia or at home spending time with her daughter Darlene, she can be found enjoying one of the many great outdoor activities offered in the bay area. She particularly loves hiking the coastal trails in Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

Toni is a Bay Area native. Her career working with animals started back in her Sophomore year in high school, where she found a job at a local animal hospital. There she did everything from cleaning kennels to reception to assisting the Veterinarians. As a little girl however, she had always wanted to train or work with Killer Whales. So, she attended the Exotic Animal Program at Moorepark College and earned her AS in Exotic Animal Training & Management. After college, Toni worked at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for 17 years as a Marine Mammal Trainer, where she worked with Pacific Walruses, California Sea Lions, Pacific Harbor Seals, and Dolphins. She finally decided she wanted a change of scenery, and has been part of the Sequoia front office team since 2017. She spends her free time with her young Border Collie, Mater, who keeps her on her toes and keeps her training skills sharp!

Siobhan started in the veterinary field when she was just 15 years old as a volunteer at the Peninsula Humane Society. She tried a couple of other carreer paths over the years, but her love of animals led her back to a veterinary setting. She found Sequoia in early 2019 and has loved being part of the team since. She's been a resident of the Bay Area peninsula her entire life so is a true native. When she's not with her Sequoia family, Siobhan loves spending time with her kids and menagerie of pets which includes three dogs and four cats. She also really loves the beach/ exploring the coast and reading.

Surgical Coordinator

Kara is our hospital Surgical Coordinator. She works closely with the doctors to put together your go home instructions if your pet is with us for a procedure, and will most likely be the person to meet with you at the end of the day to review it all and answer any questions. Kara is a beach baby as she has lived on the coast her whole life. When she's not at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her sweet 9 year old puppy, Bella. She also enjoys reading, and is probably one of the most knowledgable people you'll ever meet on the Harry Potter Series.

Belinda is orginally from Ohio - she grew up in the Cleveland area and decided to move to California to experience the west coast life. She lived in Southern California for a few years, which is where she met her husband. Job opportunities eventually led them to the Bay Area, and they've been here ever since. Belinda has always had a love of animals and has four cats of her own; Boa, Nami, Robyn and Ace. Her and her husband share an interest in cosplaying at anime conventions, playing video games, watching anime, and of course spending time with their kitties.

Isabella is a graduating senior from Carlmont High School, and will be studying Animal Sciences in the Fall. She has loved animals for as long as she can remember which has led her to the field. When she's not at Sequoia or at school, Isabella enjoys volunteering at the SPCA and other animal sanctuaries on the peninsula. Isabella grew up in the Bay Area with her two younger siblings and a Labradoodle named Archie. She also loves traveling, and has had the opportunity to shadow Veterinarians in Costa Rica and the Bahamas the past couple of summers!
